A License to Heal: Random Memories of an ER Doctor
by Steven Bentley, M.D.
I need to let you all know that I read this book in one afternoon, probably less than 2 hours. Yes, it’s that short.
But it’s an entertaining read. Dr Bentley takes us through his journey from medical school until retirement. As you can imagine, this is a rather superficial journey of vignettes and interesting stories.
I felt that I somewhat understood what he’d gone through as he journeyed through medicine though I don’t think I understood him as a person with a life outside of medicine.
A small quibble. This is a fast, enjoyable read, especially if you can purchase the book for a good price. I want to note that I read a hardcopy, courtesy of my sister, who used my Amazon wishlist.
Recommended as a 3 out of 5.
While I really enjoyed the book, I just don’t see a second read.
